Barbara Cukjati
Head of Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia
I am passionate about coaching, because I can directly witness courageous changes in people and in companies, which lead them to more wealthy life. With wealth I do not mean only material goods. I am referring to wealth as to an ability to exploit the given potential and learn to enjoy it with satisfaction and inner strength without narcissistic ego.
In my previous experience as deputy CEO I enjoyed the most recruiting new people and building them up to successful members of the team. But in that specific context I was still limited with other responsibilities and unable to focus only on the part that I enjoyed doing most.
When I decided to leave the company I still didn't know what I am getting at. I just knew that in the morning I didn't have the same passion and energy about the job. Then a friend from Luxemburg, a respected coach, encouraged me to dig more into coaching. And another friend, a successful headhunter, said to me: I have a couple positions for you as a member of the board, but you will be always striving to build up a new system, so why don't you try and put that energy behind your own company. And so I did. It was a good decision. As a coach I can live a wealthy life - satisfied because of balanced use of my personality traits, knowledge, and personal values.
My background:
- Graduated in marketing and marketing communication with honour and received a university reward for Thesis: The application of relationship marketing concept in SME.
- Several years of experience in sales, marketing of global brands as brand manager and later marketing manager.
- Deputy CEO in a distributor company, where I worked with multinational firms such as Procter and Gamble, Spectrum brands (Varta, Remington), Johnson&Johnson, and regional companies New Factor, Sisma, Akton, Votan Leo Burnett, OMD, retail chains and drugstores.
- I acquired my knowledge of creative leadership and management through the Young managers program at IEDC, Bled and MBA study, Open University, UK.
- Life coaching diploma with Achievement Specialists under direct mentorship of Curly Martin, the author of Life coaching and Business coaching handbook.
- NLP training with Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler for Master of neuro-linguistic practitioner (NLP) and hypnotic practitioner.
My coaching style and beliefs about coaching:
Coaching is an art. Even though one trains
to be a coach and acquires a diploma, the
practice and experience leads to a development
of one's unique style in which the whole being
functions in a congruent manner and thus leads
to a success.
In coaching one cannot avoid to live the kaizen approach (the constant improvement). Especially the clients that are progressing well and are high achievers are a constant motivation to improve. My clients claim that they like my coaching style because of structured, holistic approach and ability to pin down a question that really gets them moving.
